IPSEN Case Study 

Background

Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals (Ipsen), is a $630 million French based pharmaceutical company. Ipsen has been a client of Pacful's since 2011 (through their acquirement 2008 of Tercica, Inc., originally of Brisbane, CA). Though Ipsen relocated their US headquarters to Baskin Ridge, New Jersey in 2011, they continue to utilize Pacful, Inc. for warehousing and fulfillment needs for all of the U.S., along with production of their printed marketing collateral.

Challenge

Ipsen was faced with a particularly daunting situation where they were given a mandate to print, produce and deliver all new marketing collateral and deliver in-market in five days. The materials delivery needed to coincide with the destruction (with destruction certificates) of 613 cases of their existing core marketing materials in three days' time.

Pacful Solution

Pacful's print team, after working closely with the Ipsen creative team, and Ipsen's marketing agency, began actual production of the three new core marketing pieces. The individual pieces Pacful produced were complex, custom die cut, with pockets, tabs and inserts. All the collateral required hand assembly, binding and kitting by the Pacful team.

Additionally, Pacful's fulfillment team worked over the weekend pulling/prepping all 613 cases of expired marketing collateral for the shredding while simultaneously getting a certified document shredding vendor to their warehouse by Sunday.

Outcome

Pacful got all 613 cases of outdated marketing materials shredded with certificates 6-hours ahead of the deadline. As well, Pacful successfully printed, assembled, kitted and shipped all new marketing collateral nationwide to all thirty six different Ipsen Field Representatives in the five day time frame as requested by Ipsen. This was a monumental task, as typically, any one of the individual collateral items would require 8-10 days of production time.
